Its oh so quiet

hi everyone

How have you all been? I've had quite a busy week, and I havent really been feeling the best. So i havent done much sewing.

I have been working on my hexagons a little, and I started a gift for a friends baby shower, but i didnt get very far, i will post pictures when its finished!!

I have recently discovered podcasts. They are fantasticly wonderful!! I have started listening to them to and from work every day, and they make the travel so much nicer. Considering i cant actually take handsewing projects on the train, as i would get motion sickness, its nice to be able to listen to people talk about quilting, and learn a few new hints and tips in the process.

So far I have listened to The Quilted Cupcake, and Sew Stitch Create, they have accompanying blogs, which are fantastic, give them a listen if you havent already.

With a hammer and nails she shall build

This is what I have spent most of my night working on.. It's not the best but it's ok considering i have no vice or work bench and this was made basically on my lounge room floor and coffee table!! Haha not completely finished yet but almost there...just need to finish putting dowels on the other rows!!

2010 - Day Two

Well today has been full of steps in all the right directions. Luke and I went down and joined up with the gym. Im nervous, but we are locked in for 12 months now, so im going to do it. Im hoping that by this time next year I will be wearing all those clothes i have put away in boxes because they "dont quite fit" or .. "dont even come close" lol. Our trainer looked at me funny when i told her how much weight I wanted to lose, apparently I dont look like im carrying anywhere near as much weight as I am.. we have our health assessment tomorrow, so I will find out then just exactly how much I do weigh. I'm really not looking forward to it, but it has to be done.

After we got all signed up at the gym we went down to the library to pick up some books luke had ordered, and while I was there I thought I would quickly check my Etsy store to see if anyone had been interested yet, and to my utter delight, a set of my coasters has sold!! I am so excited words cannot describe it. It has really inspired me to make more things to put on there.

It really feels like a Sunday today, and I keep getting that feeling of "oh, i have to work tomorrow" then remembering that today is Saturday and I have another full day to myself!! I love that feeling!

Even tho this year has only just begun, I have a strong feeling it is going to be a great year. Wish me luck with my gym appointment tomorrow! I hope the scales arent too mean to me!!
